Information for LG500 Customers

After several thousand shots, slight wear has been detected on some LG500 models in the firing pin and cocking pin area. This wear may lead to fluctuations in muzzle velocity. To prevent possible further wear, certain parts must be removed and replaced with an upgrade kit.

Disassembly of the Rifle

  1. Remove the action from the stock.
  2. Remove the trigger unit by driving out both fixing pins (1) from left to right using a Ø3 punch.
  3. After unscrewing the v0 adjustment screw (2), driving out the grooved pin (3) through the corresponding opening in the housing, and removing the plastic pin (4) from the left side of the housing, the mainspring (5) and firing pin (6) can be removed.
  4. Remove the cocking mechanism on the right side by unscrewing screws (7) and (8).
  5. Set aside parts (3), (5), (6), (9), and (10), as they will be replaced with new parts.

Assembly of the Rifle

  1. Clean the firing pin bore using the supplied brush and ensure that the bore is clean and free of debris.
  2. Insert the new firing pin (6) into the bore. Position it correctly in the housing so that the new cocking pin (3) can be inserted from the right side. Secure the cocking pin (3) with the threaded pin (11). Tighten the threaded pin to 1.5 Nm.
  3. Place the housing with the left side facing you and install the new cocking plates (9) and (10) into their positions on the housing. Then install the cocking lever (12) so that the pins engage in the holes of cocking plates (9) and (10). Afterwards, secure the loading lever and its holder using screws (7) and (8).
  4. Reinsert the plastic pin (4) into the housing, install the mainspring (5), and screw in the v0 adjustment screw (2) until it stops.
  5. Cock the loading lever and reinstall the trigger unit using pins (1).
  6. Use the v0 adjustment screw (2) to set the pellet muzzle velocity to 170–172 m/s.
  7. Finally, reinstall the complete action back into the stock.

The upgrade should only be carried out by technically qualified personnel or an authorized service center. The upgrade can also be performed directly at the Walther factory in Ulm or by the Walther service team during national or international competitions.
